About Somali Leadership Awards (SLA)
The Somali Leadership Awards (SLA) is an annual youth-led initiative that acknowledges remarkable business leaders, education leaders, political leaders (SFG, FMS), and humanitarian organisations in Somalia for their continuing commitment to excellence, developing best practices, and implementing innovative strategies.
Founded in 2020 under Leadership Group, the Somali Leadership Awards was established to showcase the Somali side of creativity, boldness, and a positive attitude that has kept the country moving forward since the advent of civil strife in 1991.
SLA aims to encourage ease of doing leadership in Somalia by recognising individuals and organisations that demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to creating positive change.
The event is organised by the Somali Leadership Institute under Leadership Group, which focuses on sustainability leadership in the fields of business, organisations, education sectors, government institutions, and building capacity in leadership and management.
